Europe’s award-winning Smartflower blooms among the bees, hydro freedom never looked better.
TORONTO, ON, June 15 – Spring is in the air, and the first SmartflowerTM has now sprung in Canada.
The bees at Meadowlily Farm’s Ontario Bee Rescue have a majestic new flower to feast their eyes on. Brightening the pastoral landscape in all its glory, the sleek, intelligent, efficient solar solution could not have made its successful Canadian debut before a more fitting audience.
Among the ducks, the frogs and the precious honey bees that call this land home, Nü-NRG Group CEO Larry Stock and his team introduced Canadians this week to a long-awaited alternative to static solar panel installations. SmartflowerTM is portable, plug-&-play, intelligent art-in-motion.
Inspired and tested by nature in the Austrian hills, its intuitive system awakens at sunrise, unfolds its 9m photovoltaic petals, and tracks the sun until sunset – collecting 4,200 – 6,200 kWh annually, depending on the geographic location. SmartflowerTM self-cleans twice or more per day. It generates 40% more solar energy than a comparable rooftop solar installation, and doubles the latter’s degree of self-utilization.
SmartflowerTM is all-in-one. Best suited for a net metering application whereby collected unused energy can be put back onto the local grid in exchange for energy credits from the local hydro company to be used at a later date. SmartflowerTM takes the best of photovoltaic technology, and raises the bar on solar innovation, relegating stationary solar tech to the status of esteemed but antiquated pioneer.
“We are excited to install SmartflowerTM for the first time in Canada,” says Larry Stock, Nu-NRG’s CEO. “Elegantly-designed SmartflowerTM is packed with technologies that allow it to simply and efficiently ‘set-up, connect and produce clean electricity’. Nü-NRG Group is dedicated to making every Canadian home, cottage and business more independent and green without hassles.”
Built and tested to withstand rain, wind, sleet, hail and snow, SmartflowerTM is the recipient of numerous international awards for its design, innovation and sustainability.

Nu-NRG Group showcases Smartflower System at Spring Cottage Life Show 2017
TORONTO, ON, March 16 – Spring is in the air, and this year’s Spring Cottage Life Show 2017 promises to provide much conversation at the water cooler with the Canadian launch of smartflower’s award-winning all-in-one solar system, one of the most highly anticipated clean energy offerings for cottage enthusiasts in years.
Premiering in grand style at the Toronto show, which runs from March 31 to April 2 at the Toronto International Centre, the smartflower will be the first ever ground mounted, all-in-one plug-and-play solar system to grace our Canadian landscape while providing an innovative alternative to the current roof mounted systems.
Cottagers, off-grid living enthusiasts and clean energy evangelists will have a unique opportunity to experience the smartflower’s innovative and award-winning technology in full display, and meet the experts who will have it running in your backyards within an hour starting this spring.
Inspired and tested by nature in the Austrian hills, the smartflower’s intuitive system awakens at sunrise, unfolds its 18 square meter (194 square foot) petals and tracks the sun until sunset, collecting 4,000-6,000kWh annually. Collected energy can be stored and used when the sun is down or sold to the local hydro company.
“We are excited to showcase the smartflower for the first time in Canada,” says Larry Stock, Nu-NRG’s CEO. “Elegantly-designed smartflower is packed with technologies that allow it to ‘simply and efficiently set-up, connect and produce clean electricity’. Nu-NRG is dedicated to making every Canadian home and cottage more independent and green without hassles.”
Built and tested to withstand rain, wind, sleet, hail and snow, smartflower won numerous international awards for its design, innovation and sustainability, including a Red Dot Award 2016: Product Design.
A smartflower will be stationed at Nu-NRG’s booth #202 in Hall 1 at the Spring Cottage Life Show where visitors are welcome to learn more about the workings of smartflower.

Nu-NRG Group Inc brings Award-Winning smartflower Solar System to Canada.
Nu-NRG Group Inc, a Toronto based company brings smartflower to Canada. Smartflower all-in-one solar system was first launched in Europe in 2014. It’s emotive design and movement inspires consumers: it wakes up at sunrise, fans out its 12 petal solar panels to 18 ft² and automatically cleans itself in preparation for capturing the sun’s rays. smartflower then turns to face the sun at a 90° angle, and follows the sun throughout the day using dual axis tracking to maximize solar energy yield. One smartflower produces the equivalent of a 4.5 kW rooftop system.
Its harvested energy can also be stored with integrated batteries and synchronized with smart home automation via mobile devices, freeing owners from reliance on the grid. Since the panels flex during deployment to 78 degrees of inclination, they also are self-cleaning as they fold up to a stack at night. The tracking system yields higher energy production than roof-top solutions during the critical 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM period when utility rates typically are at their highest.
The smartflower installs in one to three hours, depending on foundation type, either metal screw or concrete pillar design.
